As a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (previously known as Certified Diabetes Educator), Maja has helped thousands of patients get their A1C under control by personalizing their medication regimen and nutrition therapy. After speaking to Maja, patients feel understood and empowered to be in control of their diabetes. She debunks common diabetes myths and takes a collaborative approach in managing blood sugar levels. She takes her time explaining what happens in the body when you have diabetes and how food, exercise and medications affect blood glucose levels. Having completed her CDR Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management, Maja also has helped hundreds of patients lose weight safely and without going on a “diet”. She personalizes current eating habits and finds creative ways to enjoy your food without sacrificing hunger ! Her motto is to educate and promote a healthier lifestyle rather than to encourage current diet trends which are only short term fixes.
