OBESITY AS A BRAIN DISEASE: 3 OPTIONS FOR RDNS FROM TEACHING JOYFUL EATING TO EBT CERTIFICATION

(FREE WEBINAR)

The popularity of the weight loss drugs has changed the profession of nutrition and dietetics as obesity is now seen as a brain disease, caused by biochemical drives to overeat and deposit fat. In this new age of weight loss drugs, you can offer brain-based training in nutrition to naturally change biochemical drives that promote weight regain with the proven, science-based skills of Emotional Brain Training (EBT). Use EBT with patients who are taking the drugs, stopping them, or opting for drug-free, brain-based weight loss. EBT offers three options for RDNs, all of which begin by participating in a one-day online/on-demand course: Joyful Eating with EBT. Learn how to move beyond mindful eating and intuitive eating to deliver skills that switch off the biochemical drives to overeat, so your patients eat healthier naturally.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Describe the brain-based cause of overeating, cravings, and weight gain.

  • Identify the 8 major chemicals that drive overeating and weight gain.

  • Discuss how switching off the stress response can impact these chemicals and weight loss.

  • Identify three roles for RDNs in providing brain-based weight loss services to patients.
