Ethics and Eating Disorders
ETHICS AND EATING DISORDERS
Our code of ethics as dietitians defines the core values of our profession. Part of practicing ethically is maintaining scope of practice. In disordered eating treatment, there are ethical concerns about competence in nutrition counseling as well as appropriateness of level of care. This presentation will review basic ethics in relation to dietitians working with patients and clients with disordered eating. Then, practice scenarios will be shared for discussion. Whether you work with clients with disordered eating regularly or have occasionally encountered these patients in your practice, this webinar should help highlight special concerns with this population and provide practical solutions to ethical dilemmas.
